The Grant Akif Foundation, founded by Fedlan Kılıçaslan, Chairman of AKIF Capital Holding HQ in Warsaw, is dedicated to transforming the lives of children with special needs and supporting single mothers worldwide. Fully supported by AKIF Capital, we manage all of the company’s charitable initiatives as a non-profit, ensuring that every project directly benefits families in need. We do not accept donations from third parties.

Our mission is to provide life-changing support through education, healthcare, and holistic care programs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Addressing the Gaps in Special Needs Education for Refugee and Low-Income Single Mothers in Poland
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine in 2022, Poland has become the primary destination for refugees, with a significant number being single mothers with children. Over a million refugees now reside in Poland, some of whom are low-income single mothers working in low-paying jobs while caring for children with special needs. These women, who have fled their homes without the support of family or husbands, face the added challenge of caring for children with complex needs.
Although the Polish government has extended its support to refugees, the country already faces a shortage of specialized care centers for children with special needs. As a result, Ukrainian mothers and their children are unable to rely on Polish special education centers. In response, a group of Ukrainian teachers has established special care centers near Warsaw, operating out of villa-style houses. However, these facilities are not true schools; rather, they function more as daycare centers, offering a place for mothers to leave their children during the day so they can work and provide for their families.
Many daycare centers fall short of meeting the necessary standards for special needs education. In response, our project is committed to offering vital support to Ukrainian and low-income Polish single mothers raising children with special needs. These women often struggle with limited financial resources and a lack of family support. Our goal is to bridge this gap by ensuring their children receive the specialized educational services they need to thrive and reach their full potential.

CAPACITY – 130 Children
The Warsaw Special Needs School is a community-based institution dedicated to supporting children with disabilities, aged 2 to 16, from Ukrainian and Polish single-mother households facing complex learning and developmental challenges.
